Syrian basketball male and female under 15 teams for the World Cup finals to challenge individual skills

On May 2nd, Syria’s under-15 basketball teams qualified for the U-15 World Cup to challenge individual skills, after they finished as runners-up for their groups in the online Asian qualifiers held under the supervision of the International Federation of the Game.

Our team came second with a score of 7 points equal to the leading Chinese team, lagging behind it by the scoring difference.

The chairperson of the tournament’s organizing committee and temporary member of the Basketball Association, Salam Allawi, confirmed that the individual skills competition is new.

“We met with representatives of the technical sub-committees through workshops to introduce the new competition, its laws, and how it is organized,” Allawi said.

Allawi added that the best ten players and ten women were selected to join the team and began training in their governorates under the supervision of specialized trainers, then they were subjected to a closed two-day camp in Damascus.
