Syrian Bakeries : To Increase Bakeries In Governorates and Rural Areas

Damascus (ST) The Ministry of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection is working to increase the number of bakeries in all governorates within international standard specifications in the making of bread.

Director of the Syrian Bakeries, Muhammad Al-Sayyadi, explained that many requests have been submitted to establish new bakeries, which will reflect positively on meeting citizens’ needs for the material and improving the quality of the bread. According to Al-Sayyadi, Damascus needs 7 new bakeries, Rif Dimashq 8, Aleppo 45, Homs 13, Hama 5, Latakia 28, Tartous 4, Deir Ezzor 12, Idlib 33, and Daraa 8, explaining that the new bakeries in Damascus will be in Al-Qadam, Yarmouk Camp, Jobar, Al-Duwaileh, Al-Qaboun, Al-Mazzeh 86, and Al-Hajar Al-Aswad, while in Rif Dimashq they will be in Moadamiyet Al-Sham, Artouz, Zakia, Saasaa, Wadi Barada Market, Al-Wafideen Camp, Hajira, and Al-Nashabiyah

Al-Sayyadi confirmed that the institution monitors bakeries on a daily basis, in terms of cleanliness, quality and weight, and obliges bakeries to submit a daily report that includes quota on diesel, bread, yeast, bags, vegetable oil, salt and the number of working hours, in addition to the total weight of the bread to bring the work to the required form.
