DAMASCUS,(ST)_Syrian Civil Aviation Establishment underscores that it has not received notification of targeting Russian passenger plane by missiles when it flew over Syria on Monday.
“The Russian passenger plane was flying from the Egyptian restore of Sharm el-Shiekh to the Russian city of Kazan had left the Syrian airspace without being notified of any assault,” SANA quoted an official source at the establishment as saying.
It added that the Russian plane’s pilot communicated with Air Watch Center in Damascus and asked for allowing the plane to fly at altitude 36000feet instead of 34000 feet without saying the reason.
“He was allowed to do that as it is a common request,” the source said.
It cited that four Russian commercial planes and dozens of other civil ones flew over Syrian territory on the same day safely.
“Syrian airspace is safe,” the sources stressed.
