Syrian athletes to compete in Thailand

DAMASCUS,(ST)-The Syrian athletes(second batch) are due to leave tomorrow for Thailand to take part in 4th Asian Beach Games .

Syria will compete in the following sports: triathlon, kwarch, football, wrestling and swimming.

It is worth mentioning that the first batch of Syrian athletes left for Thailand two days ago.

 

The muai thai and track and field events teams  are due to leave for Thailand next week.

Samih Ramadan (82 kg) and Nadia Assaf (63 kg) will represent the Sambo team.

Mithqal Jirmani(81 kg)  will represent Syria in the kwarch contest.

Salih Mohammad, who took two gold medals in the first event which was staged in Indonesia in 2008,1 gold and 1 silver in the championship of Muscat, will represent Syria in the swimming contest.

Majd Ghazal(high jump ) and Mohammad Ameen Salama(long jump) will represent Syria in the track and field events.

Mohammad Shubat will take part in the triathlon contest and Mohammad Halabi in the Muai thai contest.

The wrestling team includes:Mohammad Khan Sheikhouni(70 kg) and Maher Khayat(80 kg).
