The Syrian expatriate athlete Anas Jarboua scored the first position and won a gold medal in the individual combat game at the 29th World Traditional Karate Championship currently held in the Czech Republic.
Secretary of the Syrian Martial Arts Federation Zuhair Hallaq told SANA on Friday that “ranking first and winning the gold medal in the world championship is an important achievement for the Syrian sports in general and for the traditional karate sport in particular, pointing out that the union is keen on expanding the base of this sport in different clubs.
It is to be noted that Jarboua obtained the approval of the Martial Arts Federation and the Syrian General Sports Federation to represent Syria the 29th World Traditional Karate Championship whose competitions will last until October 2nd.
