Syrian army wards off attacks on gas field and military post

PROVINCES,(ST)_Syrian army has eliminated several foreign mercenaries in Lattakia countryside and warded off attacks on gas filed and military post outside Homs and Daraa, according to military sources.

A military source was quoted on the official news agency (SANA) as saying that army units intensified strikes on terrorist hideouts in Droshan and al-Sekkareyeh towns in the northern countryside of Lattakia where large numbers of terrorist were killed.

A Palestinian ringleader in al-Nusra Front, his name Omar Nisani, plus two Jordanian and a Moroccan and a Tunisian terrorists were among those who were killed in the said towns, the source confirmed.

It added that a bomb-making factory, mortars and vehicles equipped with heavy machineguns were destroyed during the strikes on the same towns.   

Add to that, army units destroyed a depot containing rockets, rocket launcher and several vehicles equipped with heavy machineguns in al-Sheikh Zaher town and on the outskirts of Bradon dam.

A terror hideout was also pounded in al-Khetles town in the northern countryside of Lattakia and all terrorist inside it died.

Terrorists affiliated to the so-called the ‘Ahrar al-Sham’ claimed yesterday’ rocket attack on Lattakia city.

In another development, army units warded off terrorists’ attacks on Ark gas field, which lies north-east Palmyra outside Homs province, and on a military post near al-Hrak town outside Daraa province.

There were also attempts by terrorists to attack people in Maksar al-Hsan and Jeb alJrah, but army units foiled them.
