The Syrian opposition political activist Loai Hussein expects that the Munich meeting on Syria will lead to an agreement on considering the Syrian army as the key ground force in world war against terrorism, according to the Damascus-based al-Watan newspaper.
The activist, who is the leader of the Syrian State Building Group, said on his facebook page that the meeting of Vienna Group due to be held today in Munich will focus on approving ceasefire in some areas before resumption of intra-Syrian talks scheduled on February 25th.
“The ceasefire agreement will be followed by agreement on the mechanism of considering the Syrian army led by President Bashar al-Assad as the key ground force in world war against ISIS and al-Nusra Front,” he added.
On his part, member of the National Coordination Commission Munzer Khaddam described remarks made by the General Coordinator of the High Negotiations Committee –formed in Riyadh-on meeting humanitarian demands as preconditions for Vienna talks as a ‘big folly’.
Khaddam advised the Riyadh commission’ coordinator to hold direct negotiations with the Syrian government delegation on the new constitution and government so that the other issues will be resolved automatically in six months.
