PROVINCES,(ST)_Syrian army has recaptured al-Mas quarter in Zabadani city from terrorist organizations and has foiled Jaish al-Fateh terrorists’ infiltration bid into Abo Duhur air base in Idleb countryside.
According to the official news agency (SANA), army units in cooperation with the Lebanese resistance fully controlled al-Mas quarter, which is located between al-Jiser and al-Ara quarters in the heart of Zabadani city north-west of Damascus and found a bomb-making factory there.
The fresh progress came 2 days after Syrian army and the Lebanese resistance regained control of the building of the Commercial Bank of Syria (CBS) plus several buildings and al-Silan square and bus station in the city.
In another development, army units foiled Jaish al-Fateh terrorists’ infiltration bid into Abo Duhur airbase, about 50km south-east of Idleb city, and inflicted heavy losses upon terrorists there.
“Army units destroyed a car bomb before it reached the entrance of the air base and clashed with the terrorists ,” a military source said, confirming that many terrorists were killed in the confrontations.
The Jaish al-Fateh [the army of the Conquest] is composed of terrorists from the al-Nusra Front, the ‘Soqor al-Sham’, the ‘Jend al-Aqsa’, the ‘al-Sham’ legion, the ‘al-Haq’ brigade, the ‘Sunni Army’, the ‘Ajnad al-Sham’ and the ‘Ahrar al-Sham Movement’, which are linked with the Saudi regime.
Moving towards the south of the country, another fighting was erupted between an army unit and an armed terrorist group that tried to infiltrate into Tal Dalf’a surrounding in the northwestern countryside of Sweida, near the administrative boundaries of Damascus countryside.
“Most members of the terrorist group were killed, while the remaining ones run away,” a military source declared.
24 terrorists killed and 36 wounded in qualitative operation
More terrorists were eliminated in a qualitative operation carried out by army units against terrorist organizations in al-Kabir town in the northeastern countryside of Lattakia.
More than 24 terrorists were killed and 36 others wounded, most of them were of foreign nationalities, in the said town, according to SANA.
The agency added that army units destroyed a training camp for Turkmenian terrorists plus an arms cache, communication station and a large number of vehicles belonging to terrorists during the operation in al-Kabir town.
