Syrian army starts wide-scale operation in Zabadani city outside Damascus, kills 110 terrorists in Lattakia countryside
PROVINCES, (ST)_Syrian army and Lebanese resistance have started a wide-scale operation from 150 points against terrorists organizations in al-Zabadani city in the western countryside of Damascus.
The operation coincided with killing 110 terrorists, most of them of foreign nationals in a qualitative operation in the northern countryside of Lattakia and launching a counterattack on terrorists to recapture the building of scientific researches and surrounding area in Aleppo.
In details, Syrian army units in cooperation with the Lebanese resistance started today a wide-scale military operation in al-Zabadani city after they tightened grip on terrorist organizations holed up inside the city, according to a military source.
The source added that an army unit and Lebanese resistance recaptured al-Tal citadel, west of al-Zabadani city, after they killed large numbers of terrorists there.
In this context, the Beirut-based al-Mayadeen TV channel reported that the operation was launched from 150 points.
“Syrian army and Lebanese resistance isolated al-Zabadani city from nearby Serghaya and Ein al-Hor towns and they cut the northern main road to the city,” the al-Mayadeen added.
It referred to a counter attack launched by Syrian army units to recapture the building of scientific researches and surrounding area in Aleppo.
“About 10 airstrikes were carried out by warplanes against terrorists inside the building,” the TV channel’s repoter said, indicating that army units warded off a fierce attack by terrorists on Jameyet al-Zahraa [ al-Zahraa Association] west of Aleppo city.
Terrorists affiliated to the so-called the ‘Jabhet Ansar al-Deen’, the ‘Jaish al-Mojahedin’ the ‘al-Ansar’ and the Ansar al-Share’a’ operation center , which is composed of the al-Nusra Front and the ‘Ahrar al-Sham Movement’ and other groups, lunched the attack on Jameyet al-Zahraa.
About 178 km southwest of Aleppo, precisely in Lattakia countryside, army units eliminated over 100 terrorists, most of them affiliated to the al-Nusra Front , during a qualitative operation in Shalf town, around 50km north of Lattakia city.
The official news agency (SANA) quoted a military source as saying that most of the terrorists killed in the operation were of foreign nationalities.
The source said that there were operations against the al-Nusra Front terrorists on the outskirts of Bradon dam and in towns of al-Eido, Saqeyet al-Kart and Jabal al-Nisr.
“The operations ended with killing 10 terrorists and wounding over 19 others,” the source clarified.
Airstrikes in countrysides of Idlib and Hama
Today at dawn, Syrian warplanes bombed terrorist hideouts in al-Mjas, al-Ter’aa and Abo Duhur towns in Idlib countryside where many terrorists were killed and injured.
Well over 40 terrorists affiliated to the al-Nusra Front and the so-called the ‘Jond al-Aqsa’ battalions died in blast took place yesterday in Ariha city outside Idlib.
In the norther countryside of Hama, Syrian warplanes destroyed several vehicles belonging to the al-Nusra Front terrorists and killed scores of them in towns of al-Lahaya, Bab al-Taqa and al-Hamra.
Further terrorists affiliated to the ISIS, also known as ISIL and IS, were killed when army units carried out strikes in Qlib al-Thawer and Qanbar towns in the northern countryside of the same province [Hama].
Moving towards the south of the country, army units pounded two terrorist hideouts containing weapons in Em Walad town, about 40 km north-east of Daraa city.
Terrorist organizations announced through social media the death of what they called ‘ filed commanders’ inside one of the hideouts in Em Walad town.
6 terrorists were also killed during a qualitative operation in an area located north-west of al-Gheryat town in the northern countryside of Daraa, according to a military source.
The source confirmed the death of a terrorist group inside a hideout, north of al-Naemeh town, during another qualitative operation.
Add to that, 20 terrorist ringleaders were killed in the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus, according to SANA
