Syrian army retakes hill in northeast Daraa, kills over 30 terrorists
PROVINCES,(ST)_Syrian army has recaptured a hill in the northeastern countryside of Daraa and killed over 30 terrorists, a military source said Sunday.
The source clarified that army units recaptured today morning al-Sheikh Hsin hill in the northeastern countryside of Daraa in the wake of intensified operations against al-Nusra Front hideouts there.
“The operations resulted in the death of scores of terrorists,” the source confirmed, adding that rest of the terrorists fled the hill towards towns of Em Walad and al-Kerk al-Sharqi, leaving their weapons and munitions.
On June 21, army units regained control over town and hill of Skaka to expand protection for al-Thaaleh airbase, which is located near the administrative boundaries between Sweida and Daraa.
Moreover, army units killed over 30 terrorists affiliated to the so-called the ‘Shohadaa Horan’ battalions during a qualitative operation on the outskirts of Power Company in Daraa al-Balad in the same province [Daraa].
“3 vehicles equipped with machine guns plus two rocket launchers belonging to terrorists were destroyed in the operation,” the military source said, indicating that army units destroyed an armored car and killed two terrorist groups outside Daraa al-Balad.
The source confirmed that 4 terrorist groups affiliated to the so-called the ‘al-Moataz Bellah’ brigade fled al-Naemeh town and a fifth terrorist group fled the refugees camp after the death of large number of terrorists during clashes among them.
In Sweida countryside, army units foiled ISIS terrorists’ infiltration bids into Bothaina hill, about 35km north-east of Sweida city.
A military source said that many terrorist were killed in the confrontations.
Further ISIS terrorists were eliminated as army units targeted their groupings in al-Qaser town in the same province [Sweida] and in the eastern countryside of Homs.
At the same time, army units inflicted heavy losses upon the Jaish al-Fateh terrorists in the countrysides of Idlib and Hama amid continuity of strikes against terrorist organizations in and outside Aleppo.
There was an infiltration attempt into Quneitra city by terrorist organizations from Jebbata al-al-Khashab and Tranjeh town, but army units foiled it, according to the Syrian TV channel.
The TV channel added that army units killed 10 terrorists and wounded 22 others in the northern countryside of Lattakia.
Separarely, it was reported that ISIS terrorists exploded two car bombs in Ghwiran quarter in Hasaka city, leaving casualties.
Another terror attack took place in Damascus as terrorists fired a mortar round on Saroja market near al-Thawra street, killing 3 persons and wounding 15 others.
