Syrian army retakes Ghweran quarter from ISIS in Hasaka, kills foreign mercenaries in Lattakia countryside

PROVINCES,(ST)_Syrian army has recaptured Ghweran quarter from ISIS in Hasaka and has killed foreign mercenaries in Lattakia countryside, according to the official news agency (SANA).

The agency reported today that army units in cooperation with popular defense groups recaptured the eastern and western edges of Ghweran quarter in Hasaka city in the wake of eliminating all ISIS groupings there.

“A car bomb was found I the said quarter during combing operations,” a military source declared.  

Later on, the Syrian TV channel said that Defense Minister Lt. General Fahd Frij inspected army units in Hasaka province upon directives from President Bashar al-Assad. 

The minister underscored that syrian army’s achivements in fighting terrorism represent people’s choice of steadfastness. 

He hailed unity between army units and Hasaka people. 

Back to operations nationwide, army units killed many foreign mercenaries during concentrated operations carried out by army units against hideouts of al-Nusra Front and allied terrorist groups in the northern countryside of Lattakia.

Add to that, army units pounded several hideouts of al-Nusra Front terrorists in an area located east of Harsh Tranjeh in the northeastern countryside of Quneitra and eliminated many terrorists in the countrysides of Daraa, Idlib, Hama and Homs.

8 cars plus an armored car belonging to terrorist organizations were destroyed in airstrikes carried out by Syrian warplanes in al-Qnetrat area in Hama countryside, according to military source.
