Syrian army retakes fresh areas in Zabadani and Hasaka

PROVINCES,(ST)_Syrian army and the Lebanese resistance recaptured fresh areas south-west of Zabadani city outside Damascus, as military operations against terrorist organizations continued nationwide.

According to Syrian TV channel, army units and the Lebanese resistance regained control over the area of Barada Mosque and surrounding buildings in the southwestern edge of Zabadani city.

Zabadani area is located on the southern end of Qalamoun, about 50 kilometers northwest of Damascus and 12 kilometers northeast of Lebanon’s Masnaa border crossing.

The fresh progress in Zabadani area synchronized with another progress made by army units in al-Zohor quarter in Hasaka city.

The official news agency (SANA) reported that an army unit in cooperation with national forces recaptured the northwestern edge of al-Zohor quarter from ISIS terrorists and continued to pursue the remaining terrorists in the quarter.  

It confirmed the death of many terrorists and the escape of large numbers of them towards some buildings on the outskirts of the quarter.

In another development, army units targeted terrorist hideouts in the countrysides of Daraa, Quneitra , Idlib, Hama, Homs and Lattakia.

A military source declared that an armored car belonging to the al-Nusra Front was destroyed in a qualitative operation east of the ‘al-Qaser al-Abayd’ restaurant in the eastern edge of Daraa city.

It added that several hideouts of al-Nusra Front terrorists were pounded in concentrated operations in Daraa al-Balad.

While in the northern countryside of Lattakia, army units destroyed 3 cars equipped with heavy machine-guns belonging to terrorist organizations in al-Forolloq forests and Tal al-Ezer.

All terrorists, who were accompanying the cars, were eliminated, a military source said.
