Syrian army retakes areas west of Sweida, repels fierce attack on hills in Quneitra

PROVINCES,(ST)_Syrian army regained control over a hill and a town in the western countryside of sweida a day after it repelled terrorist organizations’ attack on hills in the northeastern countryside of Quneitra.

A military source declared today that army units fully controlled hill and town of Skakaeh, which lies 20km west of sweida, and destroyed a convoy of vehicles belonging to the ISIS terrorists east of al-Qaser town, around 60km north-east of Sweida.

The recapture of the two areas in Sweida came a day after Syrian army repelled terrorist organizations’ attack on hills of al-Shaar, al-Bzaq and Krom Jaba in the northeastern countryside of Quneritra.

The fierce attack was launched from four axes upon the direct orders  of the Israeli intelligence bodies, the official news agency (SANA) reported yesterday.

It confirmed that media reports on terrorists’ infiltration into the said hills are groundless.

The agency indicated that army units in cooperation with popular defense groups recaptured Ahmar al-Shamali hill and inflicted heavy losses on al-Nusra Front terrorists and allied groups in towns of al-Hamedeyeh, Jebbata al-Khashab and Harsh Tranjeh in northwestern countryside of Quneitra.

In another development, army units destroyed vehicles belonging to terrorist organizations on the outskirts of Athman town, about 4km north of Daraa, and in Kafer Roma town in Idlib countryside as well as in towns of al-Qastal al-Westani, Qlib al-Thawer, al-Rawda, Jana al-Albawi, Adla and Eqirbat in Hama countryside.

While in Homs province, army units foiled ISIS terrorists’ infiltration bid into Jeb al-Jrah town, about 70 km east of Homs, and struck ISIS groupings on the outskirts of Jazal field, Palmyra city and al-Sekhneh.
