PROVINCES,(ST)_Syrian army has continued its advance in jarajir barrens in Qalamoun area outside Damascus and has killed more than 100 terrorists from al-Nusra Front in Daraa countryside.
The fresh advance in jarajir barrens manifested in recapturing Raas al-Kosh hill and Qarnet Raas al-Saabeh by Syrian army units and Lebanese resistance, according to a military source.
The source confirmed that the recapture of the two areas came after fierce clashes with ISIS terrorists, who were inflicted big losses there.
It added that Syrian warplanes destroyed several vehicles equipped with machineguns belonging to terrorists in Qalamoun mountains.
Scores of terrorists were eliminated in the airstrikes, the source said.
Four more cars belonging to the al-Nusra Front terrorists were destroyed in Khan al-Shieh town in Damascus countryside, according to the official news agency (SANA).
The agency indicated that an army unit destroyed 3 weapons-laden cars belonging to the same terrorist organization [al-Nusra Front , also known as Jabhet al-Nusra] on a road linking the northern countryside of Quneitra with the southwestern countryside of Damascus.
There were also strikes against terrorists organizations in Magher al-Mir town, which lies east of Beit Jin town, in the southwestern countryside of Damascus and in towns on Nab’a al-Sakher and al-Hamedeyeh in Quneitra countryside.
Many terrorists were killed and injured in the strikes.
‘Ansar al-Islam Front’ leader killed in Damascus
While in Damascus, the leader of the so-called the ‘Ansar al-Islam Front’, dubbed Abo Reda al-Turkmani, alongside many terrorists were mowed down during clashes with popular defense groups in Tadamon quarter.
In another development, Syrian army killed over 100 al-Nusra Front terrorists in Bosra al-Sham city, about 40km east of Daraa city, and struck terrorist hideouts in several areas in Aleppo, Idlib and in the northeastern countryside of Hama as well as in the eastern and northern countryside of Homs.
3 arms caches plus dozens of vehicles destroyed in airstrikes
In the northern countryside of Lattakia, army units in cooperation with popular defense groups destroyed 3 arms caches belonging to the al-Nusra Front and killed large numbers of terrorists in towns of Ketf al-Remman, Salma and Kasba.
One of al-Nusra Front ringleaders , dubbed Abo Taha al-Falastinin [Palestinian], was among the terrorists killed in the said towns, according to a military source.
The source added that Syrian warplanes destroyed dozens of terrorists’ vehicles in Salma, T’omeh, al-Wadi al-Kabir, al-Helweh, al-Teffaheyeh and Wadi Shikhan towns.
