Syrian Army restores security to several areas, destroys two vehicles and a tunnel for ISIS terrorists

Provinces – A military source announced that the Syrian Arab Army restored security and stability to 3 villages and established control over several strategic points, hills, and oil and gas wells in the eastern countryside of Homs province, SANA reported.

The source said that army units, in cooperation with popular defense groups, carried out operations against ISIS terror organization in the eastern countryside of Homs, which resulted in restoring security and stability to the villages of Rajm al-Qaser, al-Rajm al-A’li, and Rajm Dergham, in addition to establishing control of the hills of al-I’lam al-Gharbiyeh, al-Madarjeh, and al-Treix, along with Sha’er telecommunication station, Sha’er planet, Qaret al-Bak, Thaniyat al-Rez mountain, and the nos. 103, 108, 110, 112 oil and gas wells, adding that the army is now very close to the main well of al-Sha’er field, well no. 105.

 

The source said that the operations also resulted in eliminating large numbers of ISIS terrorists and destroying large numbers of machinegun-equipped SUVs.

Deir Ezzor

An army unit clashed with ISIS-affiliated terrorist groups which infiltrated towards the river bed in Deir Ezzor, killing 12 terrorists and destroying a vehicle equipped with a machinegun.

Another army unit carried out several military operations against ISIS gatherings in the surrounding of al-Banourama area on the southwestern outskirts of the city.

The operations resulted in the death of 7 terrorists and the destruction of a vehicle equipped with a machinegun and 3 fortified posts.

A military source stated that a Syrian army unit detonated a 50-meter tunnel in al-Sina’a neighborhood in Deir Ezzor city, killing all terrorists inside it.

The Syria air force launched intense airstrikes against the ISIS terrorist gatherings and hideouts in Talati (the two hills of) 17 and Alloush, al-Tharda Mountains, the Electricity Company and al-Mohandeseen on the southern axis of the city.
