Syrian army repels ISIS attack on hill in Sweida, kills scores of terrorists in Lattakia countryside

PROVINCES,(ST)_Syrian army has foiled terrorists’ infiltration bid into Bouthaina hill in Sweida countryside and has killed scores of terrorists in Daraa, Idlib  and Lattakia countryside.

According to a military source, an army unit in cooperation with popular defense groups repelled ISIS terrorists’ attack on Bouthaina hill in the northeastern countryside of Sweida, killing many terrorists.

More terrorists affiliated to the al-Nusra Front and allied groups were eliminated during a series of operations carried out by army units in and outside Daraa.

The official news agency (SANA) reported that army units mowed down many of al-Nusra Front terrorists, who were infiltrated from Daraa al-Balad into Daraa al-Mahatta, and pounded several hideouts of al-Nusra Front and the so-called the ‘al-Mothanna Movement’ near Bosra square in Daraa al-Balad.

Daraa al-Balad area is located near Jordanian border and it is a main crossing point for terrorists and weapons with the support of the Amman operation center being run by the Israel Mossad alongside Saudi, Turkish, Qatar and US intelligence bodies.

In the same province [Daraa], army units struck al-Nusra Front hideouts in al-Naemeh town, about 4km east of Daraa city, and in al-Bitar farm where many terrorists were killed and injured.

A rocket launcher belonging to terrorist organizations was destroyed south of Tafas town in Daraa countryside, a military source confirmed.

Last night, army units killed over 40 terrorists in various areas in Daraa countryside.

Moving towards the central region, army units destroyed a vehicle and a cannon belonging to ISIS terrorists outside Palmyra in the eastern countryside of Homs and struck terrorist targets in Palmyra city.

Other terrorist targets in Marj Khokha, Shalaf, Dwerkeh, al-Sekareyeh and al-Deraa towns in the northern countryside of Lattakia were bombed by Syrian warplanes.

Scores of terrorists were killed and several vehicles and hideouts belonging to them were destroyed during the airstrikes, a military source said.

The airstrikes coincided with clashes between an army unit and an armed terrorist group affiliated to the so-called the ‘Jaish al-Fateh’ [ the army of conquest] in Tal al-Sahen area in Idlib countryside.

The clashes ended with the death of all the terrorist group’s members and the destruction of their weapons.
