Syrian army repels attacks on towns in southern provinces

PROVINCES,(ST)_Syrian army has warded off attacks on towns in Daraa and Quneitra and has killed dozens of ISIS terrorists in Der Ezzour, military sources said Saturday.

One of the sources was quoted on the official news agency (SANA) as saying that army units in cooperation with popular defense groups foiled terrorists’ attack on Qerfa town from several directions and killed and injured dozens of the attackers.

The terrorist attackers were defeated from the outskirts of the town, which lies 26km north of Daraa city, and they left their weapons and munitions there.

Clashes and strikes

At the same time, army units carried out intensified strikes against terrorist groupings in al-Msifra and Namer towns and east of Dael town as well as south-east Ibta’a town and in Daraa al-balad and north-east Mzerib where many terrorists were eliminated.

More terrorists died during clashes with army units in Der al-Adas town near administrative boundaries of Quneitra province.

Two vehicles carrying terrorists were destroyed  in a series of successful operations carried out by an army unit in al-Lajat area, about 75 km north of Daraa city.

In Quneitra province, army units thwarted al-Nusra Front attack on Ayobeh town, about 5km far away from al-Baath city, and conducted a qualitative operation against terrorist hideouts in Em Batneh town west of Quneitra city where terrorists linked to the so-called the’Ahrar al-Sham’ movement and the ‘al-Forqa’ brigades spread.

Add to that, army units clashed with terrorist groups on the outskirts of the main square of Quneitra city and wiped out several vehicles north-west Mas’hara town, about 12km east of the city.

Many terrorists were killed and injured there.

A depot containing rockets and munitions belonging to terrorists was destroyed during accurate operations on terrorist hideouts in al-Farz, Wadi al-Sheikhan and Ghamam towns , about 48km north of Lattakia city.

Yesterday, army units destroyed 3 cars equipped with heavy machineguns plus two weapons-laden cars in concentrated operations in towns of Khan al-Joz, al-Zwek, Saqeyet al-Kart and majbal al-Khorafi in the northern countryside of Lattakia.

The Syria-Turkish border has witnessed intensified infiltration attempts by foreign mercenaries  into Syrian territories, besides entering weapons and munitions to terrorist organizations in the northern countryside of Lattakia.

Erdogan regime and Gulf sheikhdoms support the infiltration attempts and entry of weapons to Syria.

Dozens of ISIS terrorists killed

In Der Ezzour province, Syrian army in cooperation with popular resistance in the eastern region killed dozens of terrorists affiliated to the ISIS [its Arabic acronym is Daesh] in al-Jafra town in intensified strikes.

A military source declared that army units seized various types of weapons and munitions left by ISIS terrorists who ran away from the town, adding that army units fired artillery shells at ISIS hideouts in Hawejet Saker outside Der Ezzour.

The strikes synchronized with continuity of military operations against terrorist organizations outside Idlib and Hama.
