Syrian army repels al-Nusra Front and ISIS attacks on towns in Quneitra and Homs

PROVINCES,(ST)_Syrian army has repelled al-Nusra Front and ISIS attacks on towns in the northern countryside of Quneitra and in the eastern countryside of Homs, the official news agency (SANA) said Thursday.

The agency clarified that army units clashed with al-Nusra Front –linked terrorists as they were trying to attack al-Samdaneyeh al-AShraqeyeh town in Quneitra countryside.

The terrorists were coming from al-Ajraf town, a military source told SANA, confirming that many terrorists were killed and injured in the clashes.

More terrorists were eliminated in qualitative operations carried out by army units against terrorist organizations in Rasm al-Sholeh and al-Hamedeyeh towns in the western countryside of Quneitra as well as in Em Batneh town in the eastern countryside of the same province.

Social media said that 7 terrorists linked to the so-called the ‘Ansar al-Sham Front’ died in Quneitra countryside.

The town of al-Hamdeyeh is terrorists’ supply route from the Israeli enemy and it is a main crossing for conveying wounded terrorists to Israeli hospitals for treatment.

Moving towards the central region, army units warded off ISIS attack on people living in towns of Jeb al-Jrah and Maksar al-Hsan in the eastern countryside of Homs.  

A military source said that many ISIS terrorists were killed in the confrontations, adding that army units carried out concentrated operations against terrorist organizations in Em Sehrij, Em al-Rish, Rajm al-Qaser and  Mas’adeh towns  and in an area located north of al-Msherfeh al-Shamaleyeh town.

The operations resulted in the death of many terrorists and destruction of weapons and vehicles belonging to them.

There were also other military operations against terrorist organizations in al-Sam’alil town in al-Holeh area, which lies between Homs and Hama provinces.
