Syrian army regains control of western mountains of Zabadani area outside Damascus

PROVINCES,(ST)_Syrian army recaptured yesterday the western mountains of al-Zabadani area in the western countryside of Damascus in the wake of concentrated strikes against terrorist organizations there, according to the official news agency (SANA).

The agency clarified that fresh gain means that the international Damascus-Beirut highway has become safe and the terrorist organizations’ supply lines from Lebanon border were cut off.

Add to that, the terrorist organizations, who are holed up in the western quarter of al- Zabadani city, have become under Syrian army’s fire.

The Israeli occupation entity supports the terrorist organizations in al-Zabadani area and in the countryside of Daraa and Quneitra.

A Field commander told the reporters, who toured the western hills of al-Zabadani mountains, that the battle was not easy due to the heavy deployment of terrorists linked to the al-Nusra Front and allied organization in the area.

“Dozens of terrorist snipers were positioned on the top of hills,” the commander said, confirming that terrorist organizations were possessing sophisticated arms.

The success of the military plan carried out by Syrian army to uproot the terrorists and mercenaries of Al Saud regime and the Israeli occupation entity in the western mountains of al-Zabadani reflects the determination of army units to cut off all terrorist organizations’ supply lines.

39 terrorists killed

In another development, army units eliminated yesterday over 26 terrorists in Jobar quarter near Damascus plus 13 others in Tafas town in the northern countryside of Daraa province.

Rocket launchers and mortar emplacements belonging to terrorists near Nasib border crossing in Daraa countryside were destroyed by army units.
