Syrian army recaptures areas in Hassaka, as scads of detonators seized

PROVINCES,(ST)_Syrian army has recaptured four areas south of Hassaka city, as competent authorities seize big quantity of detonators and munitions on Aleppo-Homs highway, the official news agency (SANA) reported Wednesday.

The agency said that army units restored stability and security to al-Watwateyehy and Jammo towns and Jammo farm and the eastern part of Bab al-Kher town , which lie about 20km south of Hassaka city.

Large numbers of terrorists linked to the ISIS organization [Its acronym in Arabic is Daesh] were killed in the said areas while dozens of terrorists ran away, a military source confirmed.

It added that army units set up several posts in the areas to protect civilians from the ISIS attacks.  

The fresh achievement synchronized with striking terrorist organizations’ sites in towns of Rhom, Enq al-Hawa, al-Jabereyeh, Em al-Rish and north of al-Sa’en town in Homs countryside as well as in al-Lej, Tal Salmo, Abo Duhur, al-Mjas towns and north of Saraqeb town in Idlib countryside.

On the other hand, the competent authorities in cooperation with people seized a big quantity of detonators plus ammunitions inside a truck on Aleppo-Homs highway.

“Well over 20.000 detonators and boxes containing different types of munitions plus money were found inside a truck bound for northern countryside of Aleppo, ” a source told SANA, adding that two persons inside the truck were arrested and confessed that the truck was heading towards the northern countryside of Aleppo.

On January 21, the competent authorities confiscated 65 boxes of bomb detonators plus 11 reels of bomb fuse and 1kg of Hashish hidden inside a Aleppo-bound car on the international road near Homs.
