Syrian army recaptures areas in Damascus countryside

PROVINCES,(ST)_Syrian army has regained control of a town in the western countryside of Damascus a day after it recaptured farms in the eastern Ghouta of Damascus.

According to the official news agency (SANA), army units recaptured today al-Dnaji town on the administrative boundaries between Damascus countryside and Quneitra provinces and killed many terrorists there.

“Army units are clearing mines and dismantling explosive devices planted by terrorists in the town,” the agency added, indicating that many terrorists were eliminated in Der Maker town in the southwestern countryside of Damascus. 

Another progress was made by army units in the same province [Damascus countryside] and in Daraa countryside.

Army units regained control over Tal Mer’ee in the western countryside of Damascus and over Der al-Adas town and Tal Msih in the northern countryside of Daraa where large numbers of terrorists were killed.

Add to that, army units ambushed an armed terrorist group trying to run away from Meda’a area towards al-Dumeir area in Damascus countryside.

All members of the terrorist group died.

A wide-scale operation has been launched by army units in the area linking countryside of Damascus, Daraa and Quneitra and it resulted in killing large numbers of terrorists, including field commanders. 

Yesterday, army units recaptured large parts of Alya farms, which lie north of Duma city in the eastern Chouta of Damascus.

A military source confirmed that many terrorists were killed and injured in the farms while dozens of them ran away towards Duma city, which is the ‘Islam army’ main stronghold.

It pointed out that army units discovered a tunnel and defused dozens of explosive devices.

Terrorist organizations announced through social media that 23 of their members were killed and they were inflicted big losses in the battle.

Another progress was reportedly made yesterday by army units in the eastern countryside of Homs.

“Ra’a al-Maqta’a area, which lies south of Em al-Sraj al-Shamali town in the eastern countryside of Homs, was recaptured by army units,” a military source declared, adding that many terrorists were inflicted heavy losses there.

The fresh gain synchronized with killing and injuring many terrorists and destroying weapons and munitions belonging to them in Mas’ada, al-Dwebeh, Em al-Twini, al-Seltaneyeh , Rajm al-Qaser and Rhom towns in Homs countryside.

The same province witnessed today a terrorist attacks on Em al-Rish, Dwebeh, Mas’adeh and Khattab towns in Homs countryside, but army units repelled the attacks.

In another development, army units destroyed a mortar emplacement plus rocket launcher in Dael town in Daraa countryside and wiped out an arms cache and 3 vehicles belonging to terrorists in towns of al-Khadra’a, Droshan, Jeb Qebto and Saqeyet al-Kart in the northern countryside of Lattakia.

Leaders in ‘Hazm Movement’ and ‘al-Forqan brigades’ killed  

While in Idlib countryside, a military leader in the so-called the ‘Hazm’ movement, Mohammad Halbos, was killed in Sarmada town, according to social media, which also confirmed the death of the terrorist Wael Shali on the outskirts of al-Fo’a city that is exposed to terror attacks by the so-called the ‘Islam army’ and the ‘Ahrar al-Sham’ movement.

Another terrorist ringleader in the ‘al-Forqan’ brigades , Omar Ayyoub al-Masri, who was responsible for several blasts outside Quneitra and Daraa, was killed during military operations carried out by army units in the southern countryside of Quneitra.
