Syrian army kills over 60 terrorists in Lattakia and Damascus countryside, makes fresh progress in Daraa

PROVINCES,(ST)_Syrian army has killed and injured over 85 terrorists in Damascus countryside and in the northern  countryside of Lattakia and has made a fresh progress in Daraa al-Balad area in Daraa province.

According to the official news agency (SANA), over 61 terrorists affiliated to the so-called the ‘Jaish al-Islam’, the ‘Islam brigade’ and the al-Nusra Front were killed and injured during intensified military operations  carried out by army units in the eastern and western Ghoutas of Damascus.

The operations also resulted in the destruction of 3 cars and satellite station belonging to the so-called the ‘Islam Brigade’ in Duma city in the western Ghouta of Damascus.

15 terrorists including bomb experts died in explosion

“A tunnel used by terrorists in al-Jameyat quarter and another one plus 3 terror hideouts were destroyed in Darayya city,” SANA said, indicating that 15 terrorists, including bomb experts, died in an explosion inside a bomb-making factory in Erbin town in Damascus countryside.

The agency confirmed that army units advanced in the western edge of Duma area one day after they recaptured al-Kassarat area, which is located north of Abo Zied hill overlooking Damascus-Homs highway in Harasta suburb.

Another advance was made by army units in al-Mansheyeh quarter in Daraa al-Balad area in southern Daraa province where 10 buildings were recaptured after eliminating all terrorist organizations holed up there.

Last Tuesday, army units regained control over 9 strategic buildings in the same quarter.

The fresh advance synchronized with concentrated operations carried out by army units against terrorist organizations in the same area [Daraa al-Balad] where an arms cache plus 3 vehicles and a weapons-laden car belonging to terrorists were destroyed.

Many terrorists were killed and injured in the operations.

Further terrorists were eliminated and various types of weapons were seized in a qualitative operation in Talfita town’s barrens , about 30km north of Damascus city.

While in Quneitra country, army units killed many of al-Nusra Front terrorists in al-Hamedeyeh town and destroyed quantity of weapons belonging to them.

Moving towards the north of the country, army units killed many ISIS terrorists on the outskirts of the Air Forces Academy and pounded several terror hideouts in the eastern and southern countryside of Aleppo and in some quarters of Aleppo city, according to SANA.

The agency added that army units in cooperation with popular defense groups killed over 24 terrorists affiliated to the al-Nusra Front in Zahyeh and al-Sha’hrora towns in the northern countryside of Lattakia.

In another development, the Syrian TV channel reported that Syrian warplanes bombed ISIS sites in Raqqa province.
