Syrian army kills al-Nusra Front Emir and Leader, confiscates 54 US-made rockets

PROVINCES,(ST)_Syrian army has destroyed an arm cache belonging to al-Nusra Front and eliminated many terrorists during intensified operations outside Damascus, Homs and Daraa, according to the official news agency (SANA).

The agency said that army units destroyed an arms cache belonging to al-Nusa Front terrorists in Zebdin town’s farms south of the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus and killed many terrorists, some of them were of Moroccan, Libyan and Jordanian nationals.

Further terrorists affiliated to the so-called the ‘Islam’ brigade were inflicted heavy losses during an operation carried out by an army unit in Zamalka town in Damascus countryside.

While in the northern edge of Duma city, army units destroyed three vehicles belonging to terrorists  and killed 5 terrorists.

A fourth vehicle belonging to al-Nusra Front was destroyed in Jorod Esal al-Ward town in al-Qalamoun mountains, which are adjacent to the Lebanese border.

There were also more operations against terrorist organizations in Zabadani area and Khan al-Sheih town in same province [Damascus countryside] and in the eastern and northern countryside of Homs as well as in the northwestern countryside of Daraa.  

Many terrorists affiliated to the ISIS [Its Arabic acronym is Daesh] and the al-Nusra Front, including al-Nusra Front Emir in Salam Sharqi town in Homs countryside, died during the operations.

Yesterday, army units in cooperation with popular defense groups confiscated 54 US-made rockets which terrorists were conveying from al-Lajat area, which lies on administrative boundaries between Daraa and Sweida province, to the eastern countryside of Sweida.

Add to that, army units in cooperation with popular defense groups defeated al-Nusra Front terrorists in al-Ma’amel area, south of Nobul and al-Zahra’a towns in the northern countryside of Aleppo.

A military source told SANA that army units clashed with al-Nusra Front-linked terrorists in al-Ma’amel area, which extends between Jam’eyet al-Jod and Byanon town, and killed scores of terrorists there.

Terrorist organizations announced through social media that the al-Nusra Front Leader in the southern countryside of Aleppo, dubbed ‘Asad Aleppo’ [Aleppo Lion],  was killed.

In Idlib province, army units eliminated yesterday 12 terrorists affiliated to the ‘Ahrar al-Sham’ movement in Taftenaz town.
