After bringing in new reinforcements into the city of Daraa, the Syrian Arab Army intensified its points on the Daraa International Highway-Nasib Border Crossing to protect it from terrorist groups’ attacks.
Meantime, the army opened the Al-Saraya humanitarian corridor to secure the departure of locals from terrorist-held areas in Daraa Al-Balad and Al-Mukhayyam areas.
According to SANA reporter, the Daraa governorate in cooperation with several parties started to equip a temporary housing center to receive the citizens who want to leave terrorist-held areas.
After efforts to find a peaceful settlement in Daraa have failed due to the terrorist groups’ refusal to hand over their weapons, the Syrian Army on Saturday brought in new reinforcements into Daraa in order to put an end to the terrorists’ attacks on civilians and on army points and to maintain security and stability in the city.
A military source told SANA that Al-Saraya corridor connecting between Daraa Al-Mahatta and Daraa Al-Balad areas was opened today morning for 24 hours to help the locals, mainly women, children and elderly, leave the terrorist-held neighborhoods to Daraa city.
The source added that a temporary housing center was established in Martyr Ahmad Al-Rifa’i school and it was well-equipped to receive the coming locals.
According to the military source, the aim of intensifying the army’s points is to secure the movement of travelers towards Nasib-Jaber crossing at Syria’s borders with Jordan.
The army also established a field hospital in the city and a medical point equipped with ambulances as well as medical staff to support the hospitals’ work.
