Syrian army inflicts heavy losses on terrorist organizations in Aleppo, Homs

PROVINCES,(ST)_Syrian army has killed scores of ISIS and al-Nusra Front terrorists during  intensified operations in Aleppo and outside Damascus and Homs, according to the official news agency (SANA).

The agency quoted a military source as saying that an army unit carried out today morning a qualitative operation against the ISIS terrorists’ hideouts on the outskirts of the Air Forces Academy in Aleppo countryside where many terrorists were killed and several vehicles equipped with heavy machineguns belonging to them were destroyed.

The source added that other army units destroyed an arms cache belonging to terrorist organizations on the outskirts of Nairab airbase in southern countryside of Aleppo and eliminated many terrorists in Khan al-Asal town in the southwestern countryside of the same province.

Several mortar emplacements destroyed

More terrorists were killed and several mortar emplacements were destroyed during intensified operations against terrorist outposts in quarters of Bistan al-Bash, al-Ansari, al-Marjeh, al-Sha’aar, al-Helwaneyeh, al-Indarat, Bani Zied and Bab al-Nasra in the city of Aleppo.

The terrorist organizations that spread in the said quarters receive orders from the Turkish and Saudi regimes and they target civilians in safe nearby quarters with rockets and mortars almost daily.

These terrorist organizations are composed of the so-called the armed moderate opposition and Takfiri groups linked to the al-Qaeda.

In another development, army units struck al-Nusra Front hideouts in Khan al-Shieh in the southwestern countryside of Damascus and mowed down many of ISIS terrorists in al-Qaser town in the northeastern countryside of Sweida.

Moving towards the central region, army units carried out fresh operations against terrorist organizations in Kesin, al-Ken farms, Dahret al-Blan, al-Rastan hill, Kafer laha and al-Holeh areas in the northern countryside of Homs as well as in Jabal Abo Eqbin in the eastern countryside of Homs.

Many terrorists were killed and injured in the operations.

Terrorists affiliated to the al-Nusra Front and the so-called the ‘Homs Legion’ spread in the northern Homs countryside, while ISIS terrorists spread in the eastern countryside.

Separately, SANA reported that Chief-of-staff of the Army and Armed forces Ali Abdullah Ayyoub visited today army units in Idlib countryside and in the northwestern countryside of Hama. 

The visit was made upon directives of President Bashar al-Assad.
