Terrorist groups have escalated their violations of the ceasefire agreement in Idleb de-escalation zone [which was entered effect on August 31] and the Syrian army has retaliated against these violations along the lines of engagement.
According to the Damascus-based al-Watan newspaper, fierce clashes erupted yesterday between Syrian army units and terrorist groups in the north side of Khan Shekhoun city to the south of Idleb.
The paper quoted a field source in the southern countryside of Idleb as saying that Syrian army foiled yesterday at dawn an infiltration attempt made by al-Nusra Front terrorists with the support of the so-called the “National Front for Liberation”- the biggest militia funded by the Turkish regime- at the axis of Tal Jaafar to the north of Khan Sheikhoun.
The army units forced the terrorists to run away and killed and injured many terrorists.
“The ceasefire agreement on its 25th day was about to fail because of terrorist groups’ attempts to change the map of the recaptured areas. However, the Syrian army dealt wisely and only responded to the violations without fixing its new positions or moving towards new ones,” the source asserted.
It added that al-Nusra Front terrorists alongside affiliated groups work on igniting the lines of engagement that extend from the northeastern countryside of Lattakia to the western countryside of Aleppo with the aim of aborting the agreement in order to calm the angry people in the terrorist-held areas.
The source affirmed that Syrian army artillery responded to the source of terrorists’ fire in the southern countryside of Idleb and Aleppo and killed and injured scores of terrorists.
Meanwhile, the Turkish occupation army conducted a military patrol composed of 5 armored cars and military vehicles at Aleppo-Hama highway. The patrol reached the Turkish observation point in alSarman area to the east of Ma’arra city.
