DAMASCUS COUNTRYSIDE, (ST)-Within the framework of its national duty in protecting the Syrian citizens, a Syrian Arab Army unit yesterday, managed to ensure a safe exit route to 76 families from Douma in Eastern Ghouta area. The families, which comprised 322 people, fled the butchery of the armed terrorist takfiri groups which have been attacking peaceful people, stealing their properties and committing crimes against humanity in Douma.
Police Command source told SANA that the families were transferred to al-Wafiddeen Camp and then moved to a temporary housing center in Qadseyya area.
The source clarified that among the people who fled Douma were 20 gunmen who turned themselves and their weapons in to the competent authorities as to settle their legal status in accordance with enforced laws and regulations.
Terrorist takfir groups, including the so-called (Islam Army and al-Umma Army), which mostly comprise foreign mercenaries, spread in the city of Douma where they steal, impose takfiri ideas on the locals, tighten siege on people and commit crimes against humanity.
Last month, the Syrian army also facilitated the exit of several families from Zibdin area and from several towns in Eastern al-Ghouta. The terrorist groups opened fire on them while fleeing the areas wounding three people, including a kid.
