Just few hours after announcing the break of a three-year ISIS siege of the eastern city of Deir Ezzor by the Syrian Arab army and its allies, many statements and analyses made by local, Arab and foreign dignitaries and organizations were published by media outlets.
Deputy Chairman of Communist Party in Russian Duma Vladimir Kashin told correspondent of the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) in Moscow that lifting the ISIS siege of Deir Ezzor city is a ‘great victory’ as it puts an end to dark days imposed by ISIS terrorists on the city for three years.
He congratulated the Syrian people and army on this achievement, stressing that Russia stands by Syria in fighting international terrorism and US aggressive acts.
“The blood of Russian and Syrian soldiers have mixed on the Syrian territories as they are fighting side by side against common enemy,” Kashin said, condemning US aggressors, who target Syrian army’s sites and innocent civilians in DeirEzzor and Raqqa provinces.
“The United States is responsible for shedding blood of innocent persons in Iraq, Libya, Afghanistan, Yugoslavia and Syria because it bombs safe cities,” the Russian Member of Parliament asserted, indicating that this is a sham on America, which claims that it is a democratic country.
Kashin affirmed that the US seeks to achieve its ambitions by all means. He called on world peoples to stand united against the US hegemony schemes.
“Current talks in Geneva and Astana will lead to a political solution to crisis in Syria after victories being realized by the Syrian Arab army with the support of Russia, Iran and resistance forces in the region,” he added.
Another Russian MP, Andrey Borvionov said that his country will exert every possible effort to support the Syrian Arab army, which achieves successive victories over ISIS terrorists and other terrorist groups.
Deputy head of the Russian lower house of parliament’s defense committee Yury Shvitkin said that the end of crisis in Syria is near after lifting the siege of Der Ezzor.
Konstantin Sivkov, a Russian military analyst and president of the Academy for Geopolitical Problems, told Sputnik: “Having broken the Deir Ezzor blockade, [the SAA] will have to attack hotbeds of ISIS in the eastern and northern directions.”
According to the military analyst, the combat will unfold in small towns and settlements unless the SAA takes part in the liberation of Raqqa: This is possible given the fact that the city has yet to be retaken from terrorists.
Defeat for Zionist Plot
The Alliance of Palestinian Forces said in a statement released today that the SAA’s victory in Der Ezzor is a slap to the international and regional forces, mainly the US, Zionist entity [Israel], Turkey, Saudi Arabia and their tools in the region that bet on the project of fragmenting Syria.
While the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine-General Command described the lifting of siege of Deir Ezzor city as an ‘overwhelming defeat’ for the Zionist terrorist plot in the region.
The Regional Leadership of the Baath Arab Socialist Party (BASP) in Syria asserted that Syria will remain the land of dignity and Arabism.
The same view was echoed by the BASP in Yemen, which said that the lifting of the ISIS siege of Deir Ezzor by the SAA is a ‘historical victory’ over the forces of evil and Zionist and Wahhabi terrorism.
Victory for all Arabs
The Egyptian MP Nashwaal Deeb said that today’s achievement comes with the series of victories being realized by the Syrian Arab army against terrorism.
“The liberation of any area in Syria from terrorists is a victory for all Arabs,” she added, asserting that the Syrian Arab army is able to defeat terrorist organizations and their supporters.
The Telegraph newspaper quoted a local journalist as saying that jubilant residents in the city were greeting one another: “Good morning of victory”.
The Guardian quoted analyst Aron Lundas saying: ” “The reopening of the Deir Ezzor road is a strategic disaster for ISIS, which is now at its weakest since 2014 and seems unable to break out of an accelerating spiral of defeats.”
The city of Deir Ezzor, located on the shores of the Euphrates River to the northeast of Damascus, had been besieged by ISIS [Its Arabic acronym is Daesh] for over three years, with food and ammunition only delivered by air, while helicopters from the city of Qamishli had evacuated the wounded and delivered essential supplies to the city’s population.
