Syrian army advances in Lattakia countryside, presses ahead with airstrikes on terror targets in Idlib

PROVINCES,(ST)_Syrian army has expanded its control over areas in the northern countryside of Lattakia and has continued to target terrorist organizations outside Idlib, Hama, Homs, Daraa and Quneitra.

According to a military source, army units advanced today on the axis of the strategic Nabi Yunis peak in the northern countryside of Lattakia in the wake of a series of qualitative operations carried out against terrorist organizations.

Many terrorists were killed and injured in the operations during which their weapons were destroyed, the source said.

Last month, army units recaptured points 767 and 803 overlooking Rabe’a area in the northern countryside of Lattakia.

Terrorists linked to the Racep Tayyip Erdogan spread in some towns in the northern countryside of Lattakia and in Idlib province.

The province of Idlib witnessed airstrikes carried out by Syrian warplanes on Friday night against the hideouts of al-Nusra Front and the so-called the ‘al-Fateh Army’ on the outskirts of al-Kfir town, about 4km south of Jisr Esh Shugur city.

Another round of airstrikes was carried out today at down by the Syrian army’s special missions group against terrorist groupings near sugar factory in Jisr Esh Shugur city, a military source decaled.

Scores of terrorists killed

It confirmed that scores of terrorists were killed in Jisr Esh Shugur city, al-Kfir town and Ishtabraq town outside Idlib as well as in al-Sermaneyeh and Ghanya toans in the northern countryside of Hama -at administrative boundaries with Idlib province.

The Turkish media outlets reported that many foreign terrorists, who were receiving medical treatment in Turkish  governmental hospitals, died.

Military leader of the ‘Al-Zobir’ brigade, his name Mohammad Khalid al-Shiekh, and one of al-Nusra Front leaders, his name Moshib al-Shibani, were killed in Idlib countryside, the terrorist organizations said through social media.

Moving towards the southern front, a military source declared that army units killed over 10 terrorists and wounded scores more in a concentrated operation against al-Nusra Front outposts in Swidan Street in Daraa al-Balad.

Clashes

The operation synchronized with clashes flared up between army units and al-Nusra Front terrorists that tried to infiltrate into Bosra square in Daraa al-Mahatta.

A military source said that many terrorists were killed and injured in the clashes.

More terrorist were eliminated in a clash erupted between an army unit and an armed terrorist group on the outskirts of Athman town in the northern countryside of Daraa.

Add to that, army units continued to target terrorist organizations in Zemrin town and al-Lajat area in Daraa countryside and in town of Rasm al-Sholi in the southern countryside of Quneitra as well as in the northern and eastern countryside of Homs.

The former leader of the military council and commander of military operations center in al-Rastan city in Homs, the terrorist Zaher Ayyoub, was killed, according to social media.
