Within its agenda of annual activities, the Syrian Arabian Horse Association in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform on Friday held the fourth periodical race for Arabian horses at the racecourse in Dimas area in Damascus.
Horse racing fans lived enjoyable times full of challenge and strength during which 70 purebred Syrian Arabian horses competed strongly to have advanced positions.
Mohammad Al-Wadi, Director of the Syrian Arabian Horse Association, told SANA that 70 horses took part in this race which is the first to be held in Damascus racecourse and the fourth in the agenda of the association’s annual races.
Secretary of the association Nassar Kahoul said that the performance of the horses in this year’s speed races has improved notably, noting an increase in the number of horses participating in the races, which indicates the great attention accorded by breeders to their horses.
He added that preparations are underway to launch the 9th National Arabian Horse Show.
