Syrian Arab Republic’s delegation holds talks with Iranian delegation in Nur-Sultan

NUR-SULTAN, (ST)_The Syrian Arab Republic’s delegation, headed by Dr. Ayman Susan, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates on Wednesday held a meeting with the Iranian delegation headed by Senior Assistant to Iranian Foreign Minister for Special Political Affairs Ali Asghar Khaji in the framework of the 16th round of Astana talks on Syria in the Kazakh capital, Nur-Sultan.
 
The two sides exchanged views on the meetings they held during the current round of talks, in addition to the items on the agenda, including the situation in Syria and the political process as there was consensus on most of the issues, according to the Syrian News Agency (SANA).
 
They also affirmed their determination to continue to work together and coordinate directly in order to ensure reaching the results which serve the interests of the Syrian people and preserve Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity away from any external interference.
 
Earlier, the delegation of the Syrian Arab Republican had met with the Russian delegation headed by Russian President’s Special Envoy to Syria, Alexander Lavrentiev and UN special envoy for Syria Geir Pedersen.
