Syrian Arab Republic’s Delegation Holds New Round of Talks with De Mistura, Meets Russia’s Gatilov

GENEVA, (ST)-  Head of the Syrian Arab Republic’s delegation to the Intra-Syrian talks in Geneva Bashar al-Jaafari on Tuesday held a new round of talks with the UN Special Envoy for Syria Staffan De Mistura within the framework of the fourth round of Intra-Syrian dialogue.

Earlier in the day, the delegation met with Gennady Gatilov, the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister, SANA reported, citing sources close to the delegation.

According to the sources, the two sides agreed that the issue of fighting terrorism must be the top priority of talks on Syria.

 Gatilov told Russian reporters in Geneva that the ‘Syrians have no problem with the agenda suggested by De Mistura, but they believe that fighting terrorism is a more urgent issue.

He said that Russia will continue close coordination with the Syrian government on the talks in Geneva.
