Syrian Arab Republic’s Delegation Arrives in Geneva to Take Part in Intra-Syrian Talks

 GENEVA- The Syrian Arab Republic (SAR) delegation to the intra- Syrian dialogue arrived in Geneva on Friday to take part in the third round of the talks. The delegation is led by Syria’s Permanent Representative at the United Nations Bashar al-Jaafari.

Later in the day, the delegation is due to meet the UN Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura at the UN Headquarters in Geneva.

 Following his meeting yesterday with “Riyadh opposition” delegation in Geneva, the UN envoy said “the new round of talks will be fruitful and successful as much as possible because  the two sides will delve deeply into discussing the process of political transition.”

During his meeting with de Mistura on April 11, Deputy Premier, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Walid al-Moallem reiterated the Syrian state’s position on the political solution to the crisis and its commitment to an unconditional Syrian-led dialogue.
