Syrian Arab Republic Delegation Holds Meeting with De Mistura Within 8th Round of Geneva Intra- Syrian Talks

GENEVA, (ST)- The delegation of the Syrian Arab Republic to Geneva talks on Syria held on Monday a meeting with US Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura within the framework of the 8^th Round of Intra-Syrian Talks.

The delegation, led by Syria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Bashar Al-Jaafari, arrived yesterday in Geneva to take part in the talks.

The first part of the 8^th round of the talks concluded on December 1^st.

In a press conference following the first part of the talks, al-Jaafari said “there are some parties who seek undermining Geneva talks through imposing preconditions”, pointing out that the Riyadh II statement issued by the Saudi-backed opposition is categorically rejected as it has aimed at hampering the success of Geneva intra-Syrian dialogue.
