Syrian Arab Army Wards off Attack on Police Post Near Jordanian Border, Destroys 6 weapons-laden Cars Coming from Lebanon

PROVINCES,(ST)_A qualitative operation has been conducted in the north-eastern province of Hassaka amid reports of warding off an attack on a police post on the Syrian-Jordanian borders and settling the situation of 72 misled persons in Quneitra province.

 The operation resulted in killing terrorists, who were plundering wheat from silo in Tal Hamis town outside al-Qameshli in Hassaka province, and destroying several cars for terrorists, according to the state-run Syrian TV channel.

Four terrorists from the so-called the ‘Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant’ were among the dead.

Terrorist group arrested

More terrorists were killed and a quantity of weapons was seized when the army units foiled infiltration bid by an armed terrorist group into the city of Hassaka, according to Alikhbaria al-Soreyeh TV channel.

The TV channel confirmed that a terrorist group was nabbed in al-Ghweran quarter in the same province [Hassaka].

72 persons surrender

Meanwhile, a military source told the official news agency that 72 misled persons turned themselves in to competent authorities in Quneitra province through the central committee of popular reconciliation in Syria.

The situations of the misled persons were settled, according to the official agency which noted that locals of Jebbata al-Khashab, Trenjeh, Ofania and Ein al-Beda towns- in the same province [Quneitra]- started  to return to their homes after two years of displacement because of armed terrorist groups’ acts. 

Other areas in the southern countryside of Damascus will witness return of locals as a military source was quoted on the official agency as citing that security and stability were returned to areas of Beit Sahm, Yalda, Aqraba and Babbila.    

In a further development, it was reported that the army units targeted terrorist groupings in quarters of al-Hweqa al-Reshdeyeh, al-Jbeleh, al-Erfi, al-Sena’a, al-Omal and Bor Sa’ed Street in Dear Ezzour Province.

Last night, the army units destroyed a 26-meter long tunnel in al-Erfi quarter and another one 15 meter long in al-Jbeleh quarter in Der Ezzour province.

All terrorists, inside the tunnels were reportedly died.

Around 360km to the west of Der Ezzour, precisely in Homs province, the army units obliterated hideouts of terrorists in quarters of al-Warsheh, alSefsafeh, Bab Hod, al-Masabegh, Basatin al-Waer.

A military source said: “Many terrorists were killed and injured in the said areas,” adding that several armed terrorist groups were crushed in al-Khaledeyeh and al-Dar al-Kabira areas.

It pointed out that an arms cache was wiped out by the army units near al-Dali fuel station outside al-Rastan city.

The terrorist lost more weapons when the army units targeted 6 weapons-loaded cars coming from the Lebanese Arsal town to help terrorists, who are receiving decisive blows in al-Qalamon areas.

The operations against foreign-backed terrorist groups have not stopped in Darayya, Khan al-Sheih, Yabroud, Duma and Erbin in Damascus countryside where an unknown number of terrorists were killed.

Clashes flared up in Darayya area and a series of operations were carried out in other areas.

Another clash raged between an army unit an armed terrorist group that tried to attack a police station on the Syrian-Jordanian borders.

 

Terrorists kill SARC worker

In a separate incident, a worker for the Syrian Arab Red Crescent, Nisreen al-Hakim, was shot dead by an armed terrorist group while she was going to her work in Damascus countryside. 

Syria is fighting terrorism exported from around 83 countries.

The US, France, the UK, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Qatar sponsor the terrorist groups operating in Syria, world media reports say.
