Syrian Arab army tightens grip on terrorists outside Damascus, destroys weapons in 13 areas

PROVINCES,(ST)_Day by day, units of the armed forces clamp down on foreign-backed terrorists and inflict big losses on them in all flashpoint areas across the country.

Since the beginning of this month, remarkable victories have been recorded outside Damascus, Hama, Homs, and Idlib provinces as the armed forces restored security and stability to around 22 areas and made progress on several axis points.

Each progress helps to cut off supply lines to terrorists and paves the ground for further advances on all axis points.

Hi-tech devices seized

On Wednesday, the armed forces seized rifles, snipers, hi-tech devices, medicines, and passports inside a hideout of terrorists near the education TV channel’s headquarter in Barzeh suburb, just few kilometers away from Damascus, according to an official source.

They also eliminated an unknown number of terrorists, including ringleaders, in the suburbs of al-Qabon, Harasta, Doma, Erbin, Yabroud, and to the west of Daraya and in al-Bahhareyeh farms in the heart of  eastern Ghouta in Damascus countryside.

The agency added that a terrorists’ bid to detonate four explosive devices weighing 4kg/each near the external wall of police hospital in Harasta suburb was thwarted.

Another attempt to blast two explosive devices on the old road linking Damascus to Daraa province was foiled too.

In another development, the armed forces wiped out a grouping of al-Nusra Front-affiliates in Kafr Nabbodeh town in al-Ghab area outside Hama province where different types of weapons were destroyed.

More weapons and munitions belonging to terrorists were destroyed in 7 areas in northern Aleppo province and in 4 areas in southern Daraa province.

It added that the armed forces warded off terrorists’ attacks on checkpoints in seven towns- Kherbet Ghazaleh, Da’el, Tafas, alHarra, Inkhel, alSheikh Sa’ed, and Tsil- in Daraa countryside, declaring names of 6 terrorists who died in the clashes.

Other three terrorists died by a detonation of a booby-trap as they were trying to plant it in the heart of al-Sheikh Meskin town outside Daraa amid reports of a quarrel  between terrorist groups in towns of Nahita and  eastern Mleha.

As many as 6 terrorists perished in the quarrel.
