Syrian Arab army tightens control on hill in Palmyra, kills more than 20 terrorists in Damascus countryside
PROVINCES,(ST)_ A hill in Palmyra city has become under the control of the armed forces that continued launching operations against the foreign-backed terrorists outside Damascus, Der Ezzour, and Aleppo provinces.
Two days after imposing control over al-Raqem Hill in Zabadani’s eastern mountains, it was officially reported that Trad hill in al-Sha’er mountain in Palmyra became safe ensuing the heavy losses inflicted on the terrorists there.
A military source told the official news agency (SANA) that many terrorists were mowed down last night as they had sneaked into the hill, noting that the armed forces wiped out many terrorist groupings in the quarters of al-Qarabis, Bab Hod, and al-Qosor in Homs province and in al-Dar al-Kabira and al-Ghasebeyeh towns in the countryside.
Weapons from Turkey
A military source said that a large chunk of weaponry bound for the terrorists from Turkey were destroyed by the armed forces in the towns of al-Mansoura, Kafr Da’el, Bshantra, al-Kastelo, Safenet al-Sa’hraa, Daret Ezeh and on Aleppo-al-Atareb road in Aleppo countryside.
It added that three rocket launchers and several mortars, used by the terrorists to attack nearby towns, were targeted in Kweris and al-Jadedeh towns.
The source also reported on clashes in Aleppo city.
Around 320km to the south-east of Aleppo province, precisely in Der Ezzour province, the armed forces eliminated an armed terrorist group called “al-Forat” battalion in al-Sena’a quarter and hammered many terrorist groupings in the quarters of al-Reshdeyeh and al-Erfi.
Unrelenting operations
Further losses were inflicted on terrorists in Damascus countryside- in Hajjira, alDyabeyeh, Erbin, Barzeh, Jobar, Harasta, Doma, Jerod, alZamaneyeh, alBahhareyeh, and Der Salman -when the armed forces shelled hideouts there.
In this context, an official source pointed out that the armed forces wrecked a bomb-making factory to the east of Mesraba town (in the eastern Ghouta) and crushed terrorists inside.
The source said that the number of terrorists killed inside the factory amounts to 20 people approximately.
The source confirmed the death of a ringleader from al-Nusra Front plus several gangsters to the south-west and east of Ma’aloula town, around 55km to the north of the capital [Damascus].
