Syrian Arab army strikes IS operations center in Der Ezzour, wards off attacks on garrisons in Idlib

PROVINCES,(ST)_Syrian army has targeted an operations center for the IS in Der Ezzour and has warded off terrorists’ attacks on several garrisons in northwestern province of Idlib, according to media sources.

The sources clarified that many terrorists, mostly non-Syrians, were killed when Syrian army targeted an operations center for the ‘State of Iraq and the Levant’ [known as Daesh in Arabic and as IS, or ISIS or ISIL in foreign media reports] in Hwejet Saker in Der Ezzour countryside.

More terrorists including a ringleader plus bomb expert were eliminated as Syrian army warded off terrorists’ attacks on several garrisons on the outskirts of al-Qaryatain, Bsida and Maer Hattab towns in Maaret al-Noaman outside Idlib.

Syrian army, in addition, struck terrorist organizations in Athman town and west al-Tiba town in southern Daraa province as well as in Em al-Ezam, Mashara, al-Hamedeyeh and on the outskirts of Khazzan al-Ajraf and Krom Jabba in Quneitra countryside.

Many terrorists were killed and injured in the said areas.

The strikes coincided with continuity of Syrian army’s advance into Jobar quarter near Damascus from three axis to isolate the quarter from nearby Zamalka and Ein Tarma towns.

‘Thowwar Syria Front’ and IS pull back   

While in Hama province, the ‘Thowwar Syria Front’-linked fighters have pulled back from Morek city outside Hama as Syrian army is advancing into the city, according to the Beirut-based al-Mayadeen TV channel.

The TV channel also pointed out that the Daesh [IS] organization is pulling back from Ayn al-Arab city north Syria to nearby towns amid fierce fighting between the Daesh and the Kurdish people’s protection units in eastern and southern quarters of the city.
