Syrian Arab army scores strategic success in al-Qusayr countryside

PROVINCES,(ST)_For the second day in succession, units of armed forces have continued to score success in al-Qusayr battle and target al-Nusra Front-affiliated terrorists’ hideouts outside Lattakia province.

Today, towns of Arjon, al-Brak and al-Jawadeyeh outside al-Qusayr have become under the Syrian Arab army’s control after cleansing them from foreign-backed terrorists.

This advance comes a day after cleansing al-Dab’a airbase in the same area from terrorists.

An official source declared that the units of armed forces have pounded all terrorists’ hideouts in Arjon town and dismantled tens of explosive devices in it, noting that a vehicle loaded with ammunitions and stolen medical items has been confiscated when the army ambushed a terrorist group trying to flee from al-Qusayr city through Shamsin village near Damascus-Homs road.

All members of the terrorist group were eliminated, according to the source.

“In fact, a number of terrorist groups have fled to the al-Jawadeyeh town’s farms abandoning their weapons and ammunitions,” an official source said, adding that a unit of armed forces carried out a qualitative operation in al-Rastan area during which an arms cache and a hideout were destroyed.
