PROVINCES,(ST)_More areas in northern Aleppo province have been recaptured by the army units that deliver successive knockout blows to foreign-backed terrorists across the country, according to the official news agency.
The agency quoted a military source as saying that the army units restored on Monday security and stability to town of al-Sheikh Najjar and Tallet al-Ghali in Aleppo countryside in the wake of eliminating the remaining terrorist groupings there.
It added that the fresh gain coincided with killing a number of terrorists in concentrated operations on the outskirts of Aleppo central prison and in towns of Kweris, Rasm al-Abbod, Ksfr Sgher and the industrial city as well as in quarters of al-Marjeh and Qadi Askar.
There was also a clash between an army unit and an armed terrorist group that tried to attack civilians in the surrounding of ‘al-Khasrafeyeh’ mosque in the old city of Aleppo.
Concurrently, the state-run Syrian TV channel confirmed that the army units flushed terrorists out of Maan town in the northern countryside of Hama and killed dozens of terrorists there.
A military source announced names of 6 identified terrorists among the dead.
Acts of terror
On February 9th, terrorists from al-Nusra Front perpetrated a heinous crime in Maan town where dozens of civilians, mostly women, children and elderly, were murdered.
Another act of terrorism was committed today when terrorists fired a shell on Jaramana city outside Damascus province, killing two citizens and leaving 5 others wounded.
Unrelenting operations
Back to the latest developments in other provinces, it was reported that many terrorists, mostly from the so-called the’ Islamic brigade’ and al-Nusra Front, were crushed in a series of operations in Yabroud, Darayya, Duma, Erbin, Jobar in Damascus countryside.
Other terrorists, including ringleader of ‘Jend al-Sham’ organization, died in towns of al-Zara, al-Khaldeyeh, al-Dar al-Kabira and in quarters of al-Masabegh, al-Qarabis and Bab Hod in central Homs province.
A military source said: “An army unit destroyed a tunnel in Bab Hod quarter,” clarifying that the tunnel was used by terrorists for shuttling and storing weapons.
Three persons turned themselves in to competent authorities in al-Qosor quarter in Homs province, the official agency reported.
Elsewhere, the army units targeted terrorist groupings in several areas in Der Ezzour, Idleb and Daraa provinces and outside Lattakia province.
An unknown number of terrorists perished.
Terrorists of Saudi, Moroccan, Egyptian, Iraqi, Jordanian, Palestinian and Libyan nationalities were among the dead in northern countryside of Lattakia, according to a military source.
Syria is fighting terrorism exported from around 83 countries.
The US, France, the UK, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Qatar sponsor the terrorist groups operating in Syria, media reports say.
