Syrian Arab Army responds to a terrorist attack in the southern countryside of Idlib

Damascus, (ST) – Units of the Syrian Arab Army eliminated a number of terrorists, while responding to a terrorist attack from the direction of Al-Bara – Kansafra, towards Maarat Mohas – Al-Bureij in the southern countryside of Idlib. The attack was on military points in the area.

The Ministry of Defense said in a statement posted on its Facebook page that “the Syrian valiant armed forces heroically responded this morning to a heavy attack launched by terrorist groups in the southern Idlib countryside from the direction of Al-Bara – Kansafra towards Maarat Muhass – Al-Bureij. The terrorist groups took advantage of the foggy weather after intense firing with heavy weapons at points of Syrian forces in that area.

The ministry indicated that the terrorist attack lasted for hours, and resulted in the terrorists suffering heavy losses in equipment and personnel. Twelve terrorists were killed or injured. It indicated that some bodies were withdrawn, including the terrorists’ leader, in addition to the confiscation of some weapons.

Last November, army units, in cooperation with the Russian Aerospace Forces, eliminated a number of terrorists in a qualitative operation that targeted the headquarters and training camps of terrorist organizations in Idlib.
