PROVINCES,(ST)_Syrian army has repelled an attack by terrorists from al-Nusra Front and the ‘Jend al-Aqsa’ battalions on Idlib city and has recaptured al-Bweda town in the northern countryside of Hama, according to media and military sources.
The sources said today that terrorists belonging to al-Nusra Front and the ‘Jend al-Aqsa’ battalions have tried to attack Idlib city from the north-west and north-east edges of the city, but army units in cooperation with popular defense forces foiled the attack and killed large numbers of terrorists.
After the success of Syrian army in repelling the attack which started at midnight, a fierce fighting erupted between Syrian army and armed terrorist groups in the western farms of Idlib city, the sources added.
Reinforcements
It was said that Syrian army sent reinforcements to frontlines in the city of Idlib, while the terrorists intensified their attacks on the city using mortars and gas cylinders.
AlIkhbaria Syria TV broadcasted photos for the corpses of two terrorists that tried to infiltrate into Idlib city. It confirmed that the terrorists’ leader, dubbed Abo al-Walid al-Libi, was among the terrorists killed when army units repelled the attack on the city.

Meanwhile, Syrian army continued its advance in the northern countryside of Hama and regained control of al-Bweda town, eliminating large numbers of terrorists there.
A military source declared that dozens of terrorists were killed and injured in Kafr Zetta, al-Sayyad, north Morek , al-Latamneh and Dkeleh al-Janobeyeh in Hama countryside.
Weapons-laden truck destroyed
Syrian army also destroyed a weapons-laden truck on Hannora-Em Dababer road in the eastern countryside of Homs and pounded two hideouts for terrorist ringleaders in al-Sa’en al-Gharbi and Ein Hsin al-Janobi towns in the same province [Homs]. The Truck was coming from al-Eqibat area outside Hama.
More hideouts for terrorists in and outside Aleppo were targeted by Syrian army.
