PROVINCES,(ST)_An armed terrorist group’s bid to sneak from Turkey into Lattakia countryside has been repelled by a unit of armed forces amid reports of fierce fighting outside Damascus, Aleppo, Idlib and Daraa provinces.
In details, a unit of armed forces foiled Sunday a terrorist group’s attempt to infiltrate from Turkish territories into Lattakia countryside (north-west the country) through Nab’a al-Mor town.
“Most of the terrorist group’s members were eliminated and their weapons and vehicles were destroyed,” a military source said.
At the same time, it was reported that al-Mowazafin quarter in the eastern Der Ezzour province has become under the Syrian Arab army’s control after cleansing it of terrorists.
Clashes outside Damascus, Aleppo
The fresh gain occurred as the units of armed forces clashed with terrorist groups in the entrance of al-Ahmadeyeh town and in al-Rhebeh in the eastern Ghouta outside the capital.
The clashes, according to an official source, resulted in killing and injuring unknown number of terrorists and confiscating 10.000 bullets plus number of anti-tank guided missiles.
As many as 4 explosive devices of the weight 30 kg/each were dismantled in the main road to al-Ahmadeyeh town.
Moreover, the units of armed forces carried out qualitative operations against terrorists’ hideouts in Doma and Hajjera areas in the same province (Damascus countryside).
Other operations were also carried out in several areas outside Aleppo, Idlib, and Daraa provinces.
At least 22 terrorists were killed and 25 others injured in the operations.
On the other hand, a quarrel broke out between terrorists groups inside a hideout in Tal Tamr countryside (outside Hassaka province) over sharing loots. Dozens of terrorists were reportedly dead.
Shells hit al-Zablatani suburb in Damascus
In another incident, terrorists fired three mortar shells on al-Zablatani suburb in Damascus causing martyrdom of 2 citizens and wounding others (including 3 children).
The shells landed on Souq al-Hal and in a residential area in al-Zablatani suburb leaving serious damages at the scene.
Syria is facing a foreign-backed war that aims to weaken the Syrian Arab army and destroy its national economy to serve Israel’s interests in the region.
The US, France, Britain, Qatar, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia supply the terrorist groups, who perpetrate heinous crimes against citizen and destroy Syria’s infrastructure, with arms, money and media coverage.
