Syrian Arab army repel attack on airbase—competent authorities nab terrorists assassinated official in Daraa
PROVINCES,(ST)_The competent authorities have arrested the armed terrorist group that assassinated anofficial in Daraa province, as the army units repelled attack on Abo al-Dhohor airbase in Idleb province and targeted terrorist groupings outside Damascus, Aleppo and Lattakia provinces.
According to the official news agency, the competent authorities, in cooperation with Qarfa town’s locals, arrested on Saturday the terrorist group that assassinated the town’s mayor Eng. Ali Mohammad al-Ghazali.
Israeli-made explosive device
Yester night, the terrorist groups detonated an Israel-made explosive device attached to the official’s car causing the martyrdom of Eng.al-Ghazali and wounding his 14-year old son.
Another explosive device was detonated by terrorists today in al-Kornish quarter in al-Qameshli city in al-Hassaka province were a citizens was martyred and 3 others wounded, according to a Police Command source.
While in Jabal al-Sha’er outside Palmyra, the terrorists’ bid to detonate 4 explosive devices, planted near Gas Company, was foiled.
11 cars destroyed
Around 199km to the north-west of Palmyra, precisely in Hama province, the competent authorities confiscated various types of weapons inside a hideout for terrorists in Ein al-Lozeh quarter. Several terrorists were nabbed there.
The terrorists lost more weapons when the army units destroyed more than 11 cars equipped with heavy machineguns and an arms cache in eastern countryside of the same province [Hama] and in the northern countryside of Lattakia.
Dozens of terrorists, including a ringleader, were reportedly killed when the cars were destroyed in the said area.
Qatari, Saudi and Kuwaiti terrorists
More terrorists, some of Qatari, Saudi and Kuwaiti nationals, died in operations in towns of Ein al-Ashra, al-Rawda and Belleh in the northern countryside of Lattakia province.
Meanwhile, the army units pressed ahead with military operations against terrorist groupings in around 50 restive areas outside Damascus, Daraa and Idleb provinces and in Aleppo and Der Ezzour provinces.
They, in addition, warded off an attack by terrorists on Abo al-Dhohor airbase outside Idleb province. Many terrorists were eliminated.
Syria is fighting terrorism exported from around 83 countries.
The US, France, the UK, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Qatar sponsor the terrorist groups operating in Syria, world media reports say.
