Syrian Arab Army Regains Control of Town in Southern Daraa Province, Steps Up Operations Outside Damascus

PROVINCES,(ST)_A town outside Daraa province has been recaptured by the army units amid reports of intensifying operations against terrorists groups in Damascus countryside.

A military source was quoted today on the official news agency (SANA) as citing that the army units regained control of Em al-Awsaj town in al-Sanamin area outside Daraa province in the wake of killing a large number of terrorists there.

The road linking al-Sanamin, Zemren and Tal al-Hara reopened after the army imposed control over the said town, the source clarified, adding that the army units destroyed a tunnel that was used by terrorist groups on the outskirts of al-Kark quarter and Katakit building.

The source confirmed that the army units targeted terrorist groupings and their cars in Inkhel, Tsil, Sahm al-Jolan, al-Lajat, Othman and Edwan towns in Daraa countryside and pressed ahead with military operations in al-Mansheyeh quarter in Daraa city.

Many terrorists were killed and injured in the said areas.

Some 15 terrorist killed in Darayya

In another development, the official agency said that several terrorists hideouts plus five cars loaded with weapons were wiped out and dozens of terrorists were hit to the south of the municipality building in Darayya city in Damascus countryside.

The agency reporter added that at least 15 terrorists died in the city.

More terrorists, including two ringleaders from al-Nusra front, perished when the army unit targeted terrorist groupings and hideouts in Bekin, al-Zabadani, Jobar and the eastern Ghouta in Damascus countryside as well as in several areas in the northern countryside of Homs and in Idleb countryside.

Elsewhere, the army units warded off armed terrorist groups infiltration bid into safe areas in Aleppo city and shelled terrorists hideouts in quarters of al-Rashedin, Bani Zied, al-Kastello, Hanano and al-Mansoura in the old city of Aleppo.
