Syrian Arab army regains control of strategic al-Brij and Aleppo hills

PROVINCES,(ST)_Army units have regained control of  the strategic Aleppo hill [ Tallet Halab] to the west of the industrial al-Sheikh Najjar city and made remarkable progress in the ongoing battle in al-Mliha town outside Damascus, the official news agency reported on Saturday.

The agency’s reporter said that the army units destroyed several tunnels and trenches and confiscated arms depots, six mortars and big quantity of munitions in Aleppo hill during a mopping up operation.

She added that many explosive devices were defused and a car bomb was blasted by the army units there.

“The car bomb was prepared by terrorists to explode it at one of the military posts,” the reporter clarified. 

Today’s victory over foreign-backed terrorist groups in Aleppo city comes a day after the army units recaptured the strategic al-Brij town and hill, to the south of the industrial city. It also coincides with continuation of the army’s advance in alAmereyeh and al-Ramoseh quarters in the same province [Aleppo].

Moreover, the army units pounded a hideout for terrorists at al-Hatab square in the city of Aleppo and destroyed a tunnel that was used by terrorists to shuttle, a military source said, confirming the death of many terrorists in several restive areas in Aleppo province.

Attacks on garrisons outside Homs

Elsewhere, the army units targeted terrorist groupings in several areas in Daraa and Idleb provinces and warded off terrorist groups’ attacks on garrisons in Jabal Sha’er and Bsera- to the west of Palmyra- as well as near al-Sendeyeh junction in Talbisa outside Homs.

They army units also foiled terrorists’ infiltration attempt from north-east Nawa town into Jdera hill outside Quneitra.
