Syrian Arab Army Regains Control of New Areas outside Aleppo, Pursues Terrorists on Syrian-Lebanese border
PROVINCES,(ST)_Army units have flushed terrorists from new areas outside Aleppo province and restored stability and security to hills between Rankous and al-Zabadain outside Damascus province, according to the official news agency (SANA).
The agency reported today that the army units regained control of Maqla’a Beit Jned and the third region’s power plant in Aleppo countryside after eliminating the last remaining terrorist groupings there.
It quoted a military source as saying that terrorist groupings in Mare’a, al-Mansoura, al-Zerbeh, Kafr Hamra, Tal Ref’at, Khan Toman, Deir Hafer, al-Layramon, the industrial city and al-Sha’ar were targeted by the army units.
Many terrorists were killed and injured in the said areas.
Weapons for terrorists destroyed
More terrorists died and an arms cache plus cars equipped with heavy machineguns were wiped out as the army units shelled terrorist groupings in several areas in Idleb countryside.
A military source clarified that some of the terrorists killed in Idleb countryside were non-Syrians.
On other front lines, the army units struck terrorist groupings outside Homs and destroyed a quantity of weapons for them.
The army units also killed 12 terrorists and injured 23 others in Sharaf Street in Khan al-Sheih area and conducted a series of operations in the northern and eastern farms of the strategic Mliha town in Damascus countryside.
Hills between Rankous and Zabadani ‘safe’
In the same province [Damascus countryside], the army units restored stability and security to hills located between Rankous and al-Zabadani and killed many terrorist groups there.
Yesterday, the official agency said that the army units destroyed a depot containing weapons, munitions and explosive devices for terrorists in Bassemeh town in Wadi Barada and pursued terrorists on the Syrian-Lebanese border- precisely on the outskirts of Ein Derra, Aasal al-Ward and Qarra towns.
On the other hand, the competent authorities regularized situations of 20 gunmen from al-Qabon quarter in Damascus countryside plus 60 others from al-Qusayr countryside in Homs province.
Some 116 gunmen from Damascus, Damascus countryside, Hassaka and Der Ezzour provinces surrendered to the competent authorities, according to the official agency.
