Syrian Arab Army Regains Control of Hakob Citadel Plus Town Near Aleppo Central Prison

PROVINCES,(ST)_Fresh gains have been scored by army units in the ongoing battles in the country’s northern and southern provinces.

A military source declared today that the army units regained control of Hakob citadel and Hilan town near Aleppo central prison outside Aleppo province and destroyed several tunnels and trenches there.

“The army units are moving forward towards areas surrounding the prison and defusing explosive devices after they have inflicted heavy losses upon terrorists,” the source said.

In the same province [Aleppo], a series of operations were conducted on the axis of the industrial city, Handarat, Hritan, Kafr Sgher, Kafr Naha, al-Kastillo, B’edin, al-Jandol, al-Atareb, Ezaz, Andan and Mare’a.

The operations synchronized with warding off terrorists’ infiltration bids in al-Rashedin and al-Sweqa in Aleppo city and destroying two armored vehicles for terrorists.

Cautious progress in Daraa 

While in the southern province of the country, the army units wiped out today dawn an arms depot for terrorists in Da’el city to the north of Daraa city and made a progress in Nawa city where there are a lot of anti-tank mines.  

Sources told the official news agency (SANA) that the Israeli-backed terrorist groups in Daraa province are still receiving support through the occupied Golan.

” Al-Nusra front- linked Ringleaders in the western countryside of Daraa are daily communicating with Israeli soldiers and officers who are supervisors in the training camps that have been set up by the terrorist groups in areas near the occupied Golan,” the sources were quoted on the official agency as saying.

Unrelenting clashes in Bosra al-Sham

The agency confirmed the continuation of clashes between army units and armed terrorist groups in Bosra al-Sham city in the same province [Daraa].

On the other hand, the agency reported that many terrorists from al-Nusra Front were eliminated in operations in the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus, Zamalka, Jobar, Adra, Darayya, Duma and Khan al-Shieh areas outside Damascus.

Terrorists of Saudi and Jordanian nationalities were among those killed in the said areas.

A 10-meter long tunnel, used by armed terrorist groups, was discovered in Harasta suburb outside Damascus.

Elsewhere, the army units killed and injured many terrorists in several flashpoint areas outside Homs and Idleb provinces.
