Syrian Arab army recaptures Dekhaneyeh area east Damascus, kills 54 terrorists outside Hama, Idlib

ROVINCES,(ST)_Syrian army has regained control of Dekhaneyeh area east Damascus and has killed over 54 terrorists outside Hama and Idlib, according to military sources.

A military source said today that Syrian army in cooperation with popular defense forces have imposed control over Dekhaneyeh quarter and surrounding area in Damascus countryside.

“Engineering units are removing barriers and clearing out explosives planted by terrorists in Dekhaneyeh area, the source added, confirming that large numbers of terrorists were killed in the area.

Several tunnels linking houses in the area plus a tunnel linking Dekhaneyeh and Wadi Ein Tarma were discovered during the combing operation in the area.

Syrian army also recaptured dozens of buildings in Jobar quarter near Damascus and imposed control over Zamalka square in Damascus countryside. 

At the same time, the Syrian TV channel reported that Syrian warplanes destroyed a convoy of vehicles for terrorists in Jorod Arsal in Damascus countryside and eliminated 29 terrorists in Atshan and Skik towns in Hama countryside plus 25 terrorists in Shnan and Tal As in Idlib countryside.

“As many as 41 terrorists alongside their leader were killed in a qualitative operation in Zemren town in northern countryside of Daraa, the TV channel said later on, clarifying that the terrorists killed in the operation were belonging to the so-called “Ababil Horan’ brigade. 

Fresh advance in Aleppo

Another advance was made by Syrian army in Maysalon area in Aleppo city, according to the official news agency (SANA).

The agency quoted a military source as saying: “Army units in cooperation with popular defense forces took control of several buildings plus the dispensary in Maysalon area in Aleppo and killed large numbers of terrorists there.”

The source pointed out that Syrian army wiped out several vehicles for terrorists in Rittan, Kastillo, Qadi Askar, Sheikh Saed, Zebdeyeh, old city of Aleppo, Bestan al-Bash, Bani Zied, al-Mallah farms and Bashkwi in and outside Aleppo.

In northern countryside of Hama, Syrian army discovered hideouts containing missiles, mortars and medicines for al-Nusra Front-linked terrorists in Zour al-Mahrouqa east al-Zlaqeyat town in Mhardeh countryside.    

There were also military operations against terrorist organizations outside Homs, Daraa and Der Ezzour.

The Beirut-based al-Mayadeen TV channel reported that Syrian warplanes hit sites of the ‘State of the Iraq and the Levant’ [Known as Daesh in Arabic and as IS or ISIL in foreign media outlets] in al-Khriteyeh and Hawayej Shameyeh in Der Ezzour countryside.
