Syrian Arab army recaptures al-Ghbet area in Homs, kills al-Nusra Front’s military leader in Lattakia

PROVINCES,(ST)_Syrian army has restored stability to al-Ghbet area in Homs countryside and has killed the military leader of al-Nusra Front and coordinator of the ‘Ahrar al-Sham’  in Lattakia countryside, military sources said Wednesday.

The new achievement in Homs countryside came after Syrian army eliminated many terrorists in al-Ghbet area and it coincided with killing dozens of terrorists and destroying a local-made rocket launcher plus weapons-laden car west and north al-Nairab area and in Kweris and al-Amereyeh areas in northern Aleppo province.

Four cars carrying terrorists and weapons in al-Shqif and Blas and on Aleppo-Zerbeh road were wiped out by Syrian army. All terrorists inside the cars died.  

More terrorists reportedly perished as Syrian army struck terrorists’ hideouts in Daraa and outside Damascus, Lattakia and Quneitra.

The military ringleader of the al-Nusra Front organization, dubbed Hjaj al-Maghreb, plus general coordinator of the ‘Ahrar al-Sham’ , known as Mahmod Balder, were among 17 terrorists killed in towns of al-Khadra and Etera in northern countryside of Lattakia.

6 explosive devices defused

On the other hand, Syrian army defused two explosive devices on Tefor-Homs road in Palmyra outside Homs and four explosive devices on Qaryaten-Bsera road.

Three missiles hidden inside a hideout in southern orchards of Palmyra were discovered by an army unit, the official news agency (SANA) said.
